Donations to help firefighters and people in the Lewiston area who have been displaced due to the wildfires in North Central Idaho can be made to several dependable charity organizations in Lewiston. A news release from the Nez Perce County Officer of Emergency Management asked residents to make donations to local food banks and pantries, or consider a monetary donation to The Idaho Foodbank or the Red Cross.
Independence from Hunger is a hosted event by Grocery Outlet in Lewiston, ID. Every Friday in July, the store will help raise money for the North Central Idaho Foodbank. Volunteers will greet shoppers and ask them to donate or buy a raffle ticket. At point of sale donate $10 and receive a $5 coupon.

We need food! The North Central branch of The Idaho Foodbank must provide food for more than 300,000 meals this holiday season. Families, children and seniors need our support. You can help by joining with several community organizations and businesses in the Lewiston area for the this 5-county food and fund drive running the entire month of October.
The Fleetwood Mac tribute band Rumours played a benefit concert for the North Central Branch of The Idaho Foodbank on Saturday, March 7 at the Clearwater River Casino and Lodge. The concert was well attended, and with all proceeds going to The Idaho Foodbank, enough money was raised to provide food for over 90,000 meals.
The Holiday Heroes food distribution on Monday, Dec. 16 at the Nez Perce County Fairgrounds near Lewiston was a big success. Food came from the Holiday Heroes food drive at Rosauers in Lewiston, which was a promotion put on by area radio stations and additional food for this distribution was provided by our North Central Branch’s warehouse.
