March 1st kicked off the annual Corporate Challenge sponsored by Southern Idaho Honda Dealers. This month-long competition is an opportunity for local companies to have a friendly competition and raise funds, food and awareness for The Idaho Foodbank.
Sometimes you have to stop being scared and go for it. Either it will work, or it won’t. That’s life.
Hunger is a major factor impacting a person’s health. The Idaho Foodbank’s Hunger to Health Strategy is focused on the well-being of individuals, along with the health of communities across our state, through access to nutritious food and other resources required for good health.
The Idaho Foodbank has been able to partner with organizations around the state as part of our Hunger to Health Strategy. As part of the Idaho Foodbank’s Hunger to Health Strategy, last spring The Idaho Foodbank convened a Hunger to Health Advisory Committee that met quarterly over the last year. The Advisory Committee was comprised of leaders in community health and wellness throughout Idaho.
Marsha Prestwich and her volunteers at the North Fork Mobile Pantry are passionate about feeding their neighbors along the north fork of the Salmon River. Nestled along the Lost Trail Pass on the border with Montana, this community has a strong sense of looking out for each other.
Thank you to everyone who came in to volunteer their time on Martin Luther King Day! Volunteers from the LCSC Volleyball Team, Kiwanis Club of LC Valley and Lewiston Rotary Club, in addition to other individuals in the community, helped The Idaho Foodbank pack food for our Backpack Program. We appreciate everyone who celebrated this National Day of Service by supporting The Idaho Foodbank and our partners.
The impact that The Idaho Foodbank makes is made possible by each and every person who decides to give. We aren’t able to personally connect the 18,000+ individuals and organizations who give to help our neighbors, but we are truly grateful for every single gift and each gift giver.
Doug celebrated 25 years with The Idaho Foodbank at the end of 2021! Doug works in our Meridian facility putting his knowledge of warehousing and tenure in hunger relief to work for neighbors facing hunger. Congratulations Doug!
As we enter a new year, thank you for your commitment to a hunger free and healthier Idaho. The Idaho Foodbank remains steadfast in our commitment to reach Idahoans who are struggling and provide them with the tools they need to thrive. We wanted to share just a few highlights from 2021.
The Idaho Foodbank’s 2021 Hope for the Holidays campaign was successful in helping thousands of Idahoans struggling to put food on the table for the holidays. We couldn’t do it without your help. Thank you so much to all the businesses and individuals who donated and volunteered with The Idaho Foodbank and our partners during the holidays.
In January, thousands of people across the United States and Idaho celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. with a National Day of Service by participating in service projects and volunteering at local non-profits.
The Idaho Foodbank’s annual Holiday Heroes event in Lewiston is an opportunity for members of the community to make donations and volunteer to provide food for those in need during the holiday season. The culmination of this event was the distribution of boxes of food for holiday meals. The December 21st distribution in Lewiston provided food boxes for nearly 500 families who are struggling to make ends meet.
