Since 2005, the Albertsons Santa Bucks campaign has raised funds for The Idaho Foodbank to provide food for holiday meals to Idahoans who are struggling to make ends meet. This campaign gives customers the opportunity to donate money to The Idaho Foodbank when they are paying for their purchases. “Our customers and hard-working associates show such generosity through these holiday campaigns,” said John Colgrove, Division President at Albertsons Companies Intermountain Division.
During November and December, The Idaho Foodbank’s Hope for the Holidays Campaign promotes efforts across the state to alleviate hunger. We have already had many great events and there are still opportunities to get involved. With the support of the community, The Idaho Foodbank is working to allow everyone, regardless of their current financial situation, to have a holiday meal and nutritious food on the table throughout the season.

On Giving Tuesday, a global day of generosity that takes place annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Idahoans came together to support causes close to their hearts. Volunteers across the state shared their “why” this #GivingTuesday, voicing what motivates them to regularly give their time.

J-K Good Samaritan Food Bank is one of The Idaho Foodbank’s 465 partners across the state. They offer food to those living in the area with the support of all three churches in their community.

We believe no one’s bowl should be empty. This year, The Idaho Foodbank hosted online Empty Bowls events in Pocatello and the Treasure Valley. This event gives individuals the chance to purchase a unique, hand painted or handmade bowl, with proceeds benefiting The Idaho Foodbank.

Stinker Stores and The Idaho Foodbank celebrated the results of the Stomp Out Hunger Campaign with a check presentation at The Foodbank warehouse in Meridian. Since 2010, Stinker Stores have had their Stomp Out Hunger Campaign to benefit The Idaho Foodbank. Stinker Stores broke their previous record for the amount raised during Stomp Out Hunger, raising enough funds to provide food for 400,000 meals.
As we approach the holiday season, it is important to remember that not all of our neighbors can fill their plates and bowls with food. That is why The Idaho Foodbank is pleased to host Empty Bowls events in the Treasure Valley and in Pocatello.
Starting in 2005, the Albertsons Turkey Bucks campaign has raised funds for The Idaho Foodbank to provide food for holiday meals to Idahoans in need. This year, the Turkey Bucks campaign resulted in customers and employees at 11 Albertsons stores raising money to provide food for more than 200,000 meals this holiday season. At an event at The Idaho Foodbank warehouse in Meridian, representatives from Albertsons and The Idaho Foodbank spoke about their important partnership to help families struggling to make ends meet.
