We are cancelling our volunteer shifts at the Meridian warehouse on Saturday, May 14th, but would love for you to register to help with The Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. We need your help at post offices around the Treasure Valley to unload the food that the letter carriers bring back to the post office and pack the food on the trucks to be shipped back to The Idaho Foodbank and our partner agencies.
Melaleuca employees and the Melaleuca Foundation donated $12,500 to The Idaho Foodbank for the purchase of food in Southeast Idaho. These funds will provide food for up to 50,000 meals.
With Spring around the corner, now is the perfect time to clear some space in the yard for a garden or plant herbs in a pot to sit on the windowsill! Whatever you decide to plant in your garden, we hope you can create delicious recipes and stay active!
Mark your calendar: Idaho Gives is happening from May 2nd to May 5th! Idaho Gives is a program of the Idaho Nonprofit Center that is designed to bring the state together to raise money and awareness for Idaho nonprofits.
Findhelpidaho.org is a newly launched website that enables Idahoans to find community resources. Housing assistance, food pantries, medical care and transportation are just a few of the resources available on findhelpidaho.org.
Jim Jacobs has been an extraordinary volunteer with The Idaho Foodbank since 2018. If there is a need at The Idaho Foodbank in Lewiston, Jim is always there to help with a smile on his face.

As we celebrate Earth Day, it is a great time to reflect on the impact of food waste. Twenty-one percent of the volume in our landfills is food waste. Nearly 40 percent of all food in the United States is wasted. That is where our Food Rescue program comes in.

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month! Volunteers are the engines that keep food moving to Idahoans who are struggling to make ends meet. In the last fiscal year, The Idaho Foodbank hosted 17,474 volunteers. The hours these volunteers gave are the equivalent of 25 full-time employees!
