Girl Scouts and Dairy Farm Families Team Up to Support The Idaho Foodbank

For the fourth consecutive year, Idaho dairy farm families are partnering with the Girl Scouts of Silver Sage. For every box donated to the Cookies from the Heart program, dairy farmers across Idaho will donate $1, giving customers an opportunity to double the impact of their charitable contribution. A $5 purchase will provide a box of Girl Scout Cookies and help The Idaho Foodbank purchase milk to provide hunger relief across the state.

Idaho Advocates Applaud Food Assistance Provisions in New Farm Bill

Nine Idaho organizations expressed their support for the food assistance provisions laid out in the newly agreed upon farm bill that passed with overwhelming support from Congress this week. On Monday night, House and Senate leaders released a farm bill agreement that protects and strengthens food assistance programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) for Idaho families.

Stinker Stores Stomp Out Hunger Breaks Records

Stinker Stores across Idaho participated in “Stomp out Hunger,” a company-wide campaign created to provide as much help as possible to families in need during the holiday season. The Stinker Stores annual campaign delivered a record-breaking drive for the 7th year in a row.

The Idaho Foodbank Scores $20,000 from “Sacks for Hunger,” an Albertsons and Boise State Broncos Partnership

For each sack the Boise State Broncos defense tallied this 2018 season, Albertsons donated $500 for a total donation up to $20,000 for the 2018 season. Going into Saturday’s game, the Boise State Broncos had accumulated 36 sacks. Just shy of 40 sacks, Albertsons showed its ongoing commitment to support The Idaho Foodbank’s vision of a hunger-free Idaho by donating the full $20,000. The check presentation took place on Saturday, November 24, 2018, during the final home game of the Boise State Broncos 2018 season.

Smithfield Foods, WinCo Foods Donate 38,000 Pounds of Protein

Smithfield Foods, Inc. joined forces with WinCo Foods to donate more than 38,000 pounds of protein to The Idaho Foodbank on May 22nd. Smithfield’s contribution was part of the company’s 2018 Helping Hungry Homes donation tour. The donation, equivalent to more than 153,000 servings, will help families fight hunger across Idaho.
